Overview

GemLend is a fine-jewellery rental concept: instead of buying high-value pieces for single occasions, customers rent, return and rotate — with the platform handling insurance, logistics and authentication.

Context

A circular model for a category with brutal cost-per-wear and almost no resale market.

Rental over ownershipThree personas, modelled utilisationMembers-only editorial tone

Approach

  1. 01

Built a SWOT and value-chain map covering acquisition, authentication, insurance, fulfilment and returns.

  2. 02

Designed three buyer personas and modelled their occasion calendars to estimate utilisation per piece.

  3. 03

Set the 4P plan — product (curated inventory), price (per-event tiers), place (D2C web + atelier partners), promotion (occasion-led editorial).

  4. 04

Sketched the brand world: warm metallics, archival photography, members-only feel.

Outcome

A circular-economy concept with the operating mechanics modelled — acquisition, authentication, insurance, fulfilment, returns, and per-piece utilisation across three buyer personas.
