Overview
GemLend is a fine-jewellery rental concept: instead of buying high-value pieces for single occasions, customers rent, return and rotate — with the platform handling insurance, logistics and authentication.
Context
A circular model for a category with brutal cost-per-wear and almost no resale market.
Approach
- 01
Built a SWOT and value-chain map covering acquisition, authentication, insurance, fulfilment and returns.
- 02
Designed three buyer personas and modelled their occasion calendars to estimate utilisation per piece.
- 03
Set the 4P plan — product (curated inventory), price (per-event tiers), place (D2C web + atelier partners), promotion (occasion-led editorial).
- 04
Sketched the brand world: warm metallics, archival photography, members-only feel.
Outcome
→ A circular-economy concept with the operating mechanics modelled — acquisition, authentication, insurance, fulfilment, returns, and per-piece utilisation across three buyer personas.
